The accolades are endless – “One of the 12 landmarks that will change the way you see the world” says Travel & Leisure Magazine, designated “Place of a Lifetime” by National Geographic, and considered by many to be the most famous private residence ever built. With such praise it is easy to see why people travel from all over the world to come to this remote region of Western Pennsylvania to see this magnificent house, which seems to float over a waterfall! Lucky for you, this architectural masterpiece is less than 5 miles away from Fagel Farms.
At Nemacolin Woodland Resort

White Water Rafting
White Water Outfiters at Ohiopyle State Park
Less than 10 miles from Fagel Farms is the Youghiogheny River, home to some of the best white water rafting in the country! Whether you want a relaxing family friendly float trip, or a wet and wild soak filled adventure, a variety of outfitters can help you find the trip that is right for you. During peak season it is always a good idea to try and book your reservation at least one or two days a head of time.
Trillium Spa
If you’re looking to relax before the wedding head to Trillium Spa located at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. The spa offers a host of services including massages, facials and wraps.
Hiking
Pennsylvania State Parks
With eight state parks tucked into the Laurel Highlands region spanning more than 90,000 acres, plus a nature reserve covering another 5,000 acres can't begin to cover all the hiking options. Here are the four closest to Fagel Farms, listed in order of proximity are: 1) Bear Run Nature Reserve 2) Ohiopyle State Park 3) Laurel Ridge State Park and 4) Laurel Hill State Park. Happy trails!
Natural Water Slide
Ohiopyle State Park
If you want a unique experience go to Meadow Run at Ohioplye State Park and ride down a one-of-a-kind water slide that was custom designed by Mother Nature. The ~200 yards of rushing water and smooth stone that twists and turns offers visitors both immense beauty and immense fun. If you have the time take a snack and eat on one of the many sun soaked rocks. But what ever you do, be sure and wear shoes that stay on your feet, because on this ride Mother Nature will be the one to determine how fast and wild your ride will be. And beware… if the water level is low your backside is going to notice a more bumpy ride.
